"Mandarine III"...



Another pencil study of the same mandarine, two days later, with it's leaves starting to dry. That's what's tricky with fresh subjects, they don't stay for long. That is also what's makes it interesting. Sometimes you can see the changes visually during one session. Drawing from life is above all capturing the vanishing present. Give a testimony of what surrounds us today and what drew your attention for a while.

  1. I love color, but you can take a graphite drawing and make it so elegant that you make me choose the black and white over color sometimes!
